Role Summary
Our client is a Financial Services Regulatory
Organisation undergoing transformation of their Regulatory activities following
a recent re-organisation.
They immediately require an experienced Network /
Infrastructure lead to ensure that all new infrastructure / network
requirements arising from this integration
are correctly designed and aligned with the target infrastructure.
Role & Responsibilities
This is a hands-on role reporting directly to the Network / Infrastructure Project Manager.
* Ensuring designs are in line with network
infrastructure standards and will meet the requirements of the business
* Ensuring the business provides adequate non-functional
requirements within the network arena.
* Ensuring that all security requirements and standards
are met by the network design.
* Ensuring a forward thinking design approach for the
current and future state of the Network infrastructure.
Key Skills and Requirements
This is a hands-on technical QA / design role which
requires deep experience in providing network / infrastructure solutions for
large scale Enterprise systems (approx 100 systems with 4000 users).
ESSENTIAL
* 5 years + experience in WAN/LAN design and in working
with telcos and network infrastructure teams to design and manage a broad range
of network infrastructures
* Excellent overall knowledge of a broad range of Network
technology and Network technology trends
* Good understanding of architectural concepts,
methodologies and mapping approaches
* Experience with Cisco (including Nexus), Symantec,
Bluecoat, Checkpoint, Nortel, Avaya, and Nokia equipment, Big IP , Routers,
Firewalls, Load balancers Proxy servers, Layers 2 & 3 Switches, Wireless
technologies, LAN, WAN, SAN, Traffic management, and VOIP.
* Experience of data centre consolidation and migration
at enterprise level
DESIRABLE
* Cisco certified - ideally CCIE
* Knowledge of Network Design/Operations, Oracle
Infiniband, Utility Computing Platforms, Oracle Exadata, Data Centre
Migrations, NAS, backup technologies, Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam
Technologies
* Cloud compute including IaaS, PaaS,
