Role Summary
Our client is a leading global professional services firm, with offices in over

20 countries and a global commitment to develop their business services and people to achieve market leadership in their field.

Central to the achievement of this strategy is their in-house Strategy and Project Services consulting team, which shapes and manages firm-wide strategic and business improvement initiatives.  The continued growth of this team has resulted in an opportunity for a Strategy Manager to join the team.

This is a senior role that requires a strong strategy and consulting background,  specialist skills, a global outlook, and the ability to interact, challenge and  influence credibly at senior levels in the Firm.


Role Detail
The Strategy Manager is responsible for leading significant strategic change projects across the firm, working in a specialist advisory role with the board, other partners in management roles, the COO, and Business Services Heads of Function.

The role involves the following:

1) Strategic Project Management
* Developing and implementing strategic projects for the senior management
* Strategic appraisal of investment opportunities
* Global practice, regional, geographical or practice strategic support
* New practice area and product development strategies
* Performance improvement projects at practice / regional or geographic levels

2) Strategic Advisory
* Maintaining an ongoing perspective on key trends impacting the business
* identifying specific implications and raising these with relevant senior managers across the firm.
* Acting as a sounding board on strategic issues to senior management.

3) Organisational Strategy
* Providing strategic advice in relation to organisational issues
* developing organisational strategies for business units / functions as appropriate
* Identifying organisational impact of market trends.

4) Network / Communications
* Building an effective network across the firm to channel strategic thinking
* identify opportunities for Strategy Consulting team to add value.

5) Line Management
* Managing analysts and other resources on projects, often on a cross-functional  basis.

Key Skills and Requirements

* Exceptional strategy consulting experience gained either with a leading consulting firm/boutique strategy house, or in an internal strategic role at a FTSE corporate
* Experience of running strategic change projects in complex environments at a regional or global level
* Proven ability to command respect at the most senior management level (board, C-level)
* Excellent degree academics, with business qualification / MBA preferable
