Role Summary

Our client is a large global fully integrated law firm committed to leadership and innovation in legal service. It is a global market leader in all major areas of legal advice and a major element of its strategy is to attract and retain the best people by developing and nurturing the talent that they have.

This role is for a Project Manager to be responsible for delivering technical projects, achieving the objectives set out in the project's business case. The projects will typically, but not exclusively, involve: relocation of facilities and IT infrastructure, establishment of new facilities and IT infrastructure, transition of applications and infrastructure from an internally hosted environment to a third party.

Details

The Project Manager will be required to run a number of technical projects to deliver change which will involve both general business and technical aspects. In this role you will be responsible for the delivery of the full project lifecycle from inception through to completion including:

• Ensuring that the business case has validated benefits
• Planning and resourcing the project in conjunction with IT stakeholders
• Managing the project according to the firm's governance structure
• Managing the project's scope and budget
• Delivering training and communication plans
• Working with IT Teams and IT Stakeholders at all levels
Key skills and Requirements

• Managing Resources - although there will be no formal line management responsibilities, you be required to :
- request the use of resources from other departments, offices, vendors and suppliers for part or whole projects
- provide formal guidance or induction training as required;
- manage specialists and/or account managers in 3rd-parties
- plan, prioritise and allocate expenditure to achieve your goals within budget

- ability to interact with other teams, across different functions or businesses and also countries and continents

Professional Expertise

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree or equivalent, ideally in a science or math's based subject.
• qualification in a recognised project methodology, such as Prince2 (practitioner level), PMI or PMBOK.

Experience

• Extensive technical project management (4-6 full project lifecycles)

• Background in project delivery, from building business cases that deliver measurable benefits through to project closure

• Projects including:
- relocation of IT infrastructure (networks, data centres, hardware);
- transition of IT infrastructure from in-house operations to third parties or between third parties;
- establishment of new contracts with telecoms, network or data centre providers.

• Managing relationships with IT Stakeholders at all levels

• recognised project management methodology (ideally Prince2) on a range of both technical and business projects of varying sizes

• Another law firm or Professional Services environment, or a sizeable corporate
