Role Summary

Our Client is a Financial Services Regulatory body which is responsible for the conduct and supervision of the majority of Consumer Lending Businesses over 40,000 in total.

As part of the development and rollout of the new Supervision model they receive management information, Business Models and Governance Data from these firms and the information is used to identify and address problems in the Financial Services Market before they cause widespread harm.

A key element of the new supervisory strategy is to understand the business models and strategies of the firms it regulates, so it can deliver a more targeted, risk-based and effective supervision.

To achieve this, they are looking for a Business Model and Strategy Analyst to analyse the key management information metrics that firms might use to manage their business.

Details

The role involves the following activities:

• Reviewing analysis products to form views on quality, consistency and whether they are meeting their stated purpose. In doing so, make recommendations for further refinement to improve the overall quality of the analysis.

• To do this an understanding of business models and strategies; quantitative and qualitative analysis is required. Examples of analysis include:

o Quantitative analysis

o Balance sheet and income analysis

o Profitability by business line, product and distribution channel

o Peer analysis on the above metrics and basic prudential (capital and liquidity) comparisons Firms' Business Strategies

o Target growth areas

o New product strategies

o Strategy for customer treatment

o Management Information

o Governance

Key skills and Requirements

• Strong track record as a Strategic Analyst in Financial Services with an MBA

• Experience of Business Modelling and strategic understanding of Financial Strategy and Risk.

• An in-depth knowledge of one or more Financial Services markets and ability to think critically about the strengths and weaknesses of firms' strategies
