Role Summary

Our client is a Data and Information Provider which has recently updated its strategy to increase the scale of its activities and improve their delivery. The business has a strong brand and is seeking to reposition itself and regain its direction.

A new MD is in place and is looking for a right hand support person to help him in the task of structuring and driving through the business improvement initiatives which follow on from the Strategy.

The new strategy is being communicated in the next few weeks and the high level objectives will need to be turned into projects to be delivered. The organization is not strong in this area and the support person will assist and represent the MD in the business to help realize the business improvements identified.

The Role would suit someone who has experience of working in a Programme Management Office (PMO) environment with a 'get it done' reputation, high energy and initiative.

Details

This role includes the following activities:

* Supporting and working under the Direction of the MD
* Working with him to identify, structure and manage initiatives resulting from the recent Strategy Review.
* Helping to decide what to stop and start doing
* Deciding how to document and keep track of Projects once they have started.
* Helping to drive through the Projects with the relevant people responsible in the business acting with the authority of the MD.
* Helping the MD to Improve Project Planning and Project Management Disciplines in the business.

Key skills and Requirements

* High energy person willing to act on minimal guidance supporting the Managing Director in implementing the Business Improvement Initiatives.

* The capability to provide assistance with planning, controlling, reporting and delivering projects and improving these disciplines in the business.

* Some experience of operating on projects in complex and geographically diverse organisations
